White dry wines are the equivalent of light beer – they are appreciated for their refreshing characteristics. Expressions such as dry, sharp, fresh, sparkling, acrid, can often be heard when describing wines of this sort. It is best to drink them while they are young, a year or two from harvest, in order to use fresh, fruity aromas and pleasant acids. Of all wine types, light and dry white wines usually have the best price/quality ratio.
